TessFlo Terms of Use
Public URL: https://tessflo.trowins.com/terms
Version: 1.10
Effective date: 21 October 2026
Provider: Trowins Pvt Ltd
Product: TessFlo
Support: support@trowins.com
Website: https://tessflo.trowins.com/
1. Your agreement with us
These terms are between Trowins Pvt Ltd and you and govern your use of TessFlo, including its trial and purchased features. “Trowins Pvt Ltd,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to Trowins Pvt Ltd, the provider of TessFlo. “TessFlo” means the macOS dictation application provided by Trowins Pvt Ltd. “You” and “your” mean the person using TessFlo or the organization on whose behalf that person is authorized to act. You must have legal capacity to enter into this agreement. By selecting I agree and continue, you accept these terms. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled; acknowledging that notice is not blanket consent to optional data processing.
Purchase-specific terms must be supplied before payment. Accepting these app terms does not itself buy a license, subscribe you, or authorize a payment.
You must be at least 18 and have reached the age of legal majority where you live, with capacity to enter into this agreement. If accepting for an organization, you must be authorized to bind it. This does not replace Google's separate Gemma eligibility requirements.
2. Permission to use TessFlo
2.1 License and permitted use
TessFlo's proprietary application is licensed, not sold. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable right to install and use it within your trial or purchased entitlement and these terms. Lawful personal and business use, including using dictation for your own work, is permitted. The license belongs to the purchasing person or organization; authorized use within that organization remains subject to the purchased device limit. These terms do not introduce a separate named-user limit. Section 3 describes one active Mac at a time.
2.2 Transfer, sharing and commercial exploitation
Except with Trowins Pvt Ltd's written permission or where applicable law requires otherwise, you must not sell, assign, gift or otherwise transfer your license or entitlement to another person or organization; sublicense, rent or lease the proprietary application; or redistribute, repackage or provide shared or hosted access to it for third parties. You must not share, publish, sell or trade license keys or activation credentials to enable unauthorized use.
These restrictions do not prevent the same license holder from moving activation to a replacement Mac under section 3, authorized use within the purchasing organization, or sharing a link to our official download page. Moving activation between Macs does not transfer ownership of the license to another person or organization.
2.3 Copying, modification and licensing safeguards
Except as expressly permitted by us, applicable law or the relevant third-party license, you must not:
- Copy the proprietary application beyond copies reasonably needed for authorized installation, use and backup.
- Modify or create derivative versions of its proprietary code, or reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to obtain that code's source.
- Bypass or tamper with trial expiry, activation, license verification or device limits; forge entitlements; or use another person's license without authorization.
- Remove or alter proprietary ownership notices, or use TessFlo or Trowins Pvt Ltd branding to market an unauthorized version or imply our endorsement.
These restrictions do not prohibit acts protected by applicable law, including applicable software interoperability, backup, observation, study or testing exceptions, or security research authorized by us or otherwise protected by law.
2.4 Ownership, third-party components and your output
Trowins Pvt Ltd and the relevant rights holders retain their rights in the proprietary application, branding and other protected materials. No ownership or trademark permission is granted beyond what is needed for authorized use or separately permitted by law.
Rights in third-party software and models are governed by their respective licenses and notices. These app terms do not reduce independently granted permissions, including rights to use, copy, modify or redistribute those third-party materials. Google's separate Gemma agreement remains applicable to Light Cleanup.
The restrictions on distributing the proprietary application do not prohibit lawful use or sharing of your transcripts or other output, including for work. These terms do not transfer ownership of your input or output to us or guarantee that output is accurate or free of third-party rights.
3. Trial and purchases
The release offers a seven-day trial beginning with your first dictation, with full features and no trial usage limits. Optional model downloads and the separate Light Cleanup agreement still apply. An internet connection is required to start the trial with your first dictation. After the trial is started and models are installed, dictation can run offline until the trial expires. After expiry, an active paid license is required to start another dictation; there is no post-trial free allowance. A recording already underway can finish.
Purchases are handled through Polar, whose buyer terms describe its merchant-of-record and authorized-reseller role. We provide TessFlo and its applicable license/support obligations.
Before payment, we will disclose:
- USD 13 total, paid once, with no additional tax charged; no recurring subscription charge.
- Continued use of the TessFlo features described in the offer presented before payment, on compatible systems and subject to the license conditions. No recurring subscription or additional payment is required to continue using those included features. Future price changes for new purchases do not increase the price already paid or reduce the entitlement purchased.
- One active Mac at a time for the license holder. The same person or organization may deactivate the old Mac and activate the same key on a replacement Mac. This device move is not assignment of the license to another person or organization. Resale, key sharing, redistribution and other restrictions in section 2 must be disclosed before payment. Polar's customer portal provides the enabled license-management options.
- Supported hardware and operating system: Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later) running macOS 14.0 or later. Intel Macs are not supported in this launch.
- The Refund Policy, which does not provide a general satisfaction guarantee and preserves mandatory rights.
Your purchased entitlement to use the included features has no fixed expiry date. You may continue using a compatible version after active maintenance ends, subject to the license conditions and the license-verification and service-retirement arrangements below. Continued use does not guarantee indefinite development or support, compatibility with every future Mac or operating system, or access to every future feature, major upgrade or separately priced service. Any optional paid addition will be described and priced before you choose to purchase it; it will not impose a new charge for continued use of features already included in your purchase. Updates required by applicable law or expressly included in your purchase remain included. Mandatory update, security, conformity and consumer obligations remain unaffected.
This revised offer applies to purchases made under it. Customers who purchased under an earlier offer retain the entitlements promised at purchase, including updates and future TessFlo features without additional feature charges while TessFlo is maintained where that was promised. Accepting revised app terms does not reduce those earlier purchase entitlements.
TessFlo Pro bundle
TessFlo Pro provides continued dictation after the trial, one active Mac activation and the documented transfer process. The current purchased bundle includes:
- Supported local speech-model use and live transcription where supported by the selected model.
- Local history, paste delivery, vocabulary, replacements, filler filtering and Spell Mode.
- Recording widget and sound-feedback settings.
- Writing Cleanup where model terms, memory, hardware and macOS requirements are met; Gemma acceptance is separate.
- Updates and any additional features expressly included in your purchase offer, together with updates required by applicable law.
Research or discussion of a feature or model does not promise its release. Model availability and feature support depend on applicable technical and license requirements.
Provider continuity and license recovery
TessFlo relies on third-party payment and licensing providers for purchases and activation. If a provider is discontinued, becomes unavailable or permanently shuts down, we will make reasonable efforts to preserve or migrate valid customer entitlements using TessFlo's records and purchase information supplied by the customer.
For recovery assistance, contact support@trowins.com with your purchase receipt or order ID. If these are unavailable, contact us about other evidence of purchase. We will check the available records and make reasonable efforts to provide replacement activation or migrate your entitlement where technically and legally possible. Recovery cannot be guaranteed if a purchase cannot be verified, required records are unavailable, technical or legal restrictions prevent migration, or the applicable product/operating system can no longer be supported. We will communicate available alternatives and provide remedies required by applicable law. Keep your purchase receipt, order ID and license information.
These qualifications do not remove mandatory rights or authorize withdrawal of purchased features merely to sell them again.
4. Local processing and internet requirements
Speech recognition and optional Light Cleanup run on your Mac after their models are installed. Downloads, purchases, license activation/refresh and update checks use the internet. Local speech processing does not mean the entire product has no network activity.
Paid receipts are valid for 30 days from issuance. If renewal fails because of connectivity or service unavailability, an additional outage grace lasts for up to 40 days after that receipt's expiry. TessFlo displays “Verification overdue” during this grace and asks you to reconnect. A failed retry does not restart or extend the grace. After it ends, successful verification is required to continue paid access.
Outage grace does not override an explicit revocation, refund, deactivation or transfer. TessFlo blocks the old/revoked entitlement immediately when the app performs or receives the confirmed action. A disconnected Mac cannot receive a new remote status until communication resumes; immediate remote enforcement cannot be guaranteed while fully offline. The purchased entitlement to continued use is distinct from these receipt validity periods.
The seven-day trial has no extension under this paid outage policy. TessFlo checks a signed trial receipt locally before each recording and refreshes status when connected. The app uses server time and local elapsed-time safeguards; changing the clock does not intentionally extend the trial. If the saved trial time is missing, damaged or uncertain after a clock change, internet verification is required to recover the remaining trial time. Verification does not restart the trial. An internet check is not required before each ordinary trial dictation. See the Privacy Policy for information handled by those services.
5. Record and process content lawfully
Only capture, transcribe or process material you are entitled to use. Obtain the notices, consents and other permissions required by applicable recording, privacy, confidentiality, copyright and other laws, including rules relevant to other participants and their location. A microphone permission granted by macOS is not another person's consent.
Do not use TessFlo for unlawful surveillance, unlawful recording, infringement, fraud or other illegal activity. You are responsible for your choice of source material and how you share or use the results. This provision does not treat every recording without express consent as unlawful; applicable legal requirements determine what is permitted.
TessFlo is provided for lawful use only. Trowins Pvt Ltd does not authorize or endorse illegal use. You are responsible for your own unlawful acts, for obtaining the permissions required for your use, and for the unlawful content you choose to record, process or share. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Trowins Pvt Ltd is not liable for losses, claims, penalties or other consequences to the extent caused by your unlawful use of TessFlo. This does not exclude responsibility for our own acts or omissions where applicable law makes us responsible, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Unlawful use that constitutes a material breach may result in suspension or termination under section 8, subject to its notice, review and mandatory-rights safeguards.
6. Optional models and output
TessFlo uses FluidAudio for local Parakeet v2 recognition. Applicable third-party software and model notices are supplied separately from the proprietary TessFlo application terms. Package inclusion does not itself establish that a component processes or transmits user information.
Speech-model license/attribution information is available before download and in Legal & Licenses. Light Cleanup is optional and has a separate agreement. We do not require Gemma acceptance for ordinary dictation. If you decline its agreement, Light Cleanup stays disabled.
Transcription and cleanup can make mistakes, omit words or change meaning. Review output before sending or relying on it, especially for consequential uses. TessFlo does not provide professional medical, legal, financial or other advice. These terms do not guarantee that output is accurate or free of third-party rights.
7. Updates and changes
For a planned end of active maintenance or permanent retirement of TessFlo's licensing service, we will give at least 90 days of advance notice on https://tessflo.trowins.com/ and email available purchase addresses where permitted. Unexpected third-party provider failures may prevent advance notice and will be handled under the recovery policy above.
Before permanently retiring TessFlo's own licensing service, we will make reasonable efforts to provide verified purchased customers with a final version or replacement activation that allows continued use without periodic online license checks, where technically and legally possible. This does not guarantee compatibility with future operating systems.
If we announce that active maintenance of TessFlo is ending, we will keep the last supported installer available to purchased customers for 12 months after that announcement. This does not guarantee compatibility with future operating systems.
Purchased customers receive email support through support@trowins.com for as long as TessFlo is maintained. Support covers installation and setup, license activation and device transfers, purchase issues and refund requests, and troubleshooting TessFlo bugs on supported Macs. Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy and applicable law. We aim to send an initial reply to ordinary support emails within two business days. This is a target, not a guarantee or a deadline for resolving the issue. Applicable mandatory deadlines are unaffected. Complaint acknowledgement and grievance handling are described separately in section 10.2. For this support target, business days are Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays observed in Kerala, India, using Indian Standard Time (UTC+5:30).
Update availability and support are subject to the offer described before purchase and any statutory obligations. Material changes to this agreement will be identified and, where required, presented for acceptance before applying to future use. We do not use a general change clause to retrospectively remove purchased rights or mandatory remedies. Changes to a model's terms are handled separately for that model.
8. Ending use or restricting access
You can stop using TessFlo and remove its local application data. Uninstalling does not automatically erase purchase or hosted licensing records.
8.1 Grounds for suspension or termination
We may suspend access or terminate and revoke the affected entitlement on the following grounds, subject to applicable law:
- A material breach of these terms, including unauthorized resale, redistribution, key sharing or deliberate circumvention of licensing safeguards.
- A fraudulent purchase, forged or otherwise invalid license, or unauthorized use of another customer's entitlement.
- Confirmed cancellation or refund of the corresponding purchase, to the extent that it ends that entitlement. A proportionate price reduction does not automatically cancel the entire license.
- A legal requirement to restrict or end access.
A valid purchase will not be revoked merely because prices change, we introduce a new plan, or you make a legitimate complaint, request a refund or exercise a statutory right. Earlier purchase entitlements and mandatory remedies remain protected. Product maintenance and service retirement remain governed by section 7.
8.2 Notice, corrective action and review
Where appropriate, we will explain the grounds and affected entitlement, give notice and a reasonable opportunity to correct a remediable breach before final termination. We may suspend affected access immediately where reasonably necessary to address active fraud, serious security risks or a legal requirement. A temporary suspension during investigation is not itself a final finding of breach; we will review the circumstances and communicate the outcome and any appropriate next steps.
If you believe a restriction is mistaken, email support@trowins.com with your purchase reference and an explanation. We will review the available information and restore access where a restriction was mistaken or its grounds no longer apply and restoration is appropriate. This review process does not replace or delay statutory remedies or legal deadlines.
8.3 Effect of termination and device deactivation
After valid termination of an entitlement, you must stop using the proprietary application under that entitlement and remove its unauthorized copies. Other valid purchases, independently granted third-party rights and your rights in lawful transcripts or output are unaffected. Termination does not automatically forfeit a refund or other remedy required by law.
Deactivating an old Mac to move your valid license to another Mac is not termination of that license. Offline enforcement remains subject to the communication limits in section 4; we do not promise instantaneous remote disabling of a disconnected Mac.
These restrictions and procedures apply subject to the purchase offer and applicable law. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights already granted under earlier purchases; material changes are handled under section 7.
9. Consumer rights, remedies and responsibility
9.1 Your purchase and mandatory rights
Your purchase entitles you to the TessFlo license and features described in section 3 and the offer presented before payment, subject to the disclosed system requirements and limitations. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights, remedies or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or restrict.
9.2 Reporting a problem and corrective action
If TessFlo does not provide purchased functionality as described, or payment completed but you cannot obtain a usable license or activation, email support@trowins.com. Describe the problem, your TessFlo and macOS versions, and your purchase email or order reference where available. Missing purchase details alone do not remove statutory rights. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or private dictation content.
We will assess the reported problem and make reasonable efforts to resolve issues within our control through support, a correction, an update, replacement or restoration of access, as appropriate. We may request information reasonably needed to investigate or verify the purchase. We do not guarantee that every reported problem can be reproduced or technically corrected, or promise a fixed resolution time. The initial-response target in section 7 is not a resolution deadline.
Where applicable law requires correction or another remedy, we will provide it on the terms required by that law, including without charge, within the required time and without significant inconvenience where those requirements apply. Our investigation or inability to fix a problem does not remove that obligation.
9.3 Unresolved problems and available remedies
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may be entitled to correction, replacement, restoration of access, a proportionate price reduction, termination of the purchase contract with an applicable refund, or another remedy. These rights can arise, for example, if correction is impossible, unsuccessful or unreasonably delayed, or the problem is sufficiently serious. We do not require repeated correction attempts or completion of our support process where the law entitles you to another or an immediate remedy.
Duplicate charges, unresolved activation failures, material product defects and other refund requests are addressed under the Refund Policy. Its change-of-mind restrictions do not limit statutory withdrawal, cancellation, refund or other mandatory rights. Approved refunds are processed through Polar under the applicable payment procedures. Refund processing does not extend a mandatory deadline.
9.4 Technical limitations and responsibility
Transcription and cleanup can contain errors, and uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Review output before sending or relying on it, as described in section 6. Compatibility and operation can also be affected by your hardware, operating system, other applications, network connectivity or third-party services. We do not promise to correct systems or services we do not control; the recovery and service-retirement commitments in sections 3 and 7 still apply.
These limitations do not excuse a failure to provide purchased functionality or remove responsibility imposed by applicable law. These terms do not create an additional promise to compensate every claimed loss arising from an error or interruption. Any right to damages or other compensation is determined under applicable law and the circumstances of the claim. A refund is not stated to be your exclusive remedy, and nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9.5 Third-party vulnerabilities and security incidents
TessFlo includes third-party software and models and uses external hosting, payment, licensing and update services. A vulnerability is a potential security weakness; a security incident involves an actual or suspected compromise. The existence of a vulnerability does not itself establish that information has been accessed or that either party is legally liable.
If we receive a credible report of a vulnerability or incident affecting TessFlo, we will assess the available information and potential impact and make reasonable efforts to mitigate risks within our control. Depending on the circumstances, this may include coordinating with the relevant provider or maintainer, applying an available correction, releasing a TessFlo update or workaround, replacing an affected dependency, or temporarily limiting affected functionality where reasonably necessary for security. We will provide relevant user guidance where appropriate. Any limitation will be proportionate to the risk and reviewed as circumstances change; required remedies and the commitments in sections 3, 7 and 9 remain unaffected.
Third-party providers and maintainers control fixes to their own systems or components. We cannot guarantee their response, the availability of a correction, or a fixed resolution time for every vulnerability. For vulnerabilities in macOS or unrelated applications, the relevant vendor controls the underlying fix; we will assess any impact on TessFlo and take appropriate measures within our control. Users should follow relevant security guidance and install appropriate security updates, subject to their system requirements.
Trowins Pvt Ltd remains responsible for its own integration, operations and response to the extent required by applicable law. A third-party cause does not automatically exclude our responsibility or make that provider solely liable to you. Responsibility for any loss depends on applicable law and the circumstances. Nothing in this section excludes non-excludable liability, mandatory security updates or consumer remedies. Incidents involving personal information are also addressed in section 8 of the Privacy Policy.
Report suspected vulnerabilities or security incidents to support@trowins.com. Include the affected version, a description and reproduction steps where available, without passwords, license keys, private transcripts or other sensitive information. Do not access another person's information or disrupt services to demonstrate an issue. The ordinary support response target in section 7 is not a security-resolution deadline and does not extend any applicable legal reporting or notification deadline.
10. Governing law, dispute resolution and jurisdiction
10.1 Governing law
These terms and disputes arising out of or relating to TessFlo are governed by the laws of India. This choice does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections available under applicable law.
10.2 Complaints and grievance handling
Grievance support: support@trowins.com
You can raise a complaint or grievance about TessFlo, a purchase, licensing, support or privacy by emailing support@trowins.com. A subject such as "Grievance - TessFlo" helps us route it, but a particular subject or use of the word "grievance" is not required. Describe the issue, when it occurred, the outcome you seek and any relevant purchase reference or previous correspondence where available. Missing purchase details alone do not remove statutory rights. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, license keys or private dictation content.
We will acknowledge receipt and provide a reference or identify the email thread to use for follow-up. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours of receipt, including weekends and holidays. Where India's applicable e-commerce rules require acknowledgement within 48 hours and redress within one month of receipt, we will meet those requirements. Other applicable complaint, privacy-request, refund and legal deadlines remain unaffected. Section 7's two-business-day ordinary support target does not replace or extend a mandatory grievance deadline.
We will review the information, request only additional details reasonably needed, and investigate the matters within our responsibility, coordinating with Polar or another provider where appropriate. We will communicate our decision, reasons and any corrective action or remedy available. Where further investigation is needed, we will explain the status and next steps; a progress update does not extend a mandatory deadline. Grievance redress does not guarantee that every technical issue can be fixed, but we will provide any alternative remedy required by applicable law.
If you believe a complaint has not been addressed or disagree with the outcome, reply in the same email thread or email support@trowins.com with the previous reference and request a further review, explaining the remaining concern. Trowins Pvt Ltd will review that concern and communicate its response. You do not need to submit a new purchase or repeat information already provided unless clarification is reasonably needed.
For privacy requests and grievances, see section 10 of the Privacy Policy. You may use competent consumer authorities, dispute-resolution bodies or courts as permitted by applicable law; section 10.4 preserves those rights. If the dispute remains unresolved, the parties may agree to mediation. Mediation is voluntary unless applicable law requires otherwise.
10.3 Court jurisdiction
Subject to section 10.4, the competent courts at Ernakulam, Kerala, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these terms or TessFlo.
10.4 Mandatory rights and remedies
Nothing in this section requires you to complete our complaint process or mediation before exercising a statutory right, seeking urgent relief, or meeting a legal deadline. It does not restrict access to a consumer commission, authority or court whose jurisdiction cannot lawfully be excluded.
10.5 Separate agreements and contact
Google’s separate Gemma agreement has its own provisions; these terms do not modify them.
Contact: support@trowins.com. You can retain a copy of these terms through Settings → Legal & Licenses and https://tessflo.trowins.com/terms.
