History

Find, copy, export, or delete your saved dictations.

Open History to find completed dictations saved on this Mac. History stores text, not playable microphone recordings.

Find and reuse text

  1. Use Search dictations… to find an entry. Use application or issue filters if offered.
  2. Expand the entry to read its details.
  3. Choose Copy transcript, then paste where needed.
  4. To change saved text, choose Edit transcript, make your changes, and select Save changes. Cancel keeps the original entry.
  5. If offered, Restore recognized text replaces the saved result with its retained recognition text.

Editing History does not change text already pasted elsewhere. If saving fails after delivery, check the destination before dictating again to avoid duplicates.

Export before removing data

In History → Your data, choose Export all, then JSON, CSV, MD, or TXT. Use Show in Finder to locate the export.

Exports are separate copies. Deleting History does not delete exported files.

Delete entries

Deletion is permanent. Export anything you want to keep first.

  • For one entry, choose Delete.
  • For all entries, choose Delete everything, review Delete all history?, then select Delete all history.

This only removes TessFlo History. Clipboard contents, exports, Mac backups, and text in other apps have separate controls.

Control retention

Open Settings → History. Automatically remove older dictations starts on, with Keep up to set to 500. Export important entries before lowering the limit.

TessFlo also has a local history storage limit, so History is not an unlimited archive. Clearing it does not remove settings, vocabulary, replacements, downloaded models, agreement records, or license information.
