Text won’t paste

Recover your words and get automatic pasting working.

If text appears under Latest dictation or in History, recognition worked. Recover that text before recording it again.

Recover the text first

  1. Choose Copy under Latest dictation.
  2. Click the destination text field.
  3. Press Command+V. Check for text already pasted so you do not add a duplicate.

If this works, your words are recovered. Use the checks below to fix automatic paste.

Check automatic pasting

  1. Enable Settings → Text output → Paste into the active app. It starts off unless you enabled it during setup or later.
  2. Allow TessFlo in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Microphone permission alone does not allow pasting.
  3. Return to TessFlo. Use Check again if offered and confirm the permission instructions clear.
  4. Open a new TextEdit document and click inside it. Try a short dictation while keeping that destination selected.
  5. If TextEdit works but another app does not, use manual paste there. Report the app and type of text field to support.

Automatic paste can fail if focus changes, the destination is unavailable or protected, or the app handles keyboard input differently.

TessFlo may leave text on the clipboard for recovery even when Keep a copy in the clipboard is off. After a successful paste with that setting off, TessFlo can restore the previous clipboard when possible. Do not rely on this as a clipboard backup.

If manual paste also fails, choose Copy again and check that the destination allows pasting. Report the exact error. Changing vocabulary or reinstalling a model will not fix a destination that blocks paste.
