Privacy and support

Understand what stays on your Mac and how to ask for help.

Speech recognition and optional Light Cleanup run on your Mac after their models are installed. Some other tasks need the internet:

  • Downloading models and supporting files.
  • Starting the trial or checking uncertain trial time.
  • Buying, activating, deactivating, or refreshing a license.
  • Checking for and downloading updates.
  • Sending a support email and any attachments you choose.

During normal operation, speech content is not sent to licensing or payment services. Trowins Pvt Ltd does not collect microphone recordings through normal app operation, sell or rent your voice recordings or transcripts, or use them for AI-model training, advertising or profiling. If you deliberately share speech content with support, it is handled for that request and applicable legal obligations, not for training or advertising. Separate apps and services you share content with have their own practices. The Privacy Policy explains the full practices and providers.

What stays on your Mac

TessFlo stores settings, vocabulary, replacements, text history, models, agreement records, and access-verification information locally.

Recognition may use temporary audio files. TessFlo tries to remove these after processing and removes abandoned files at startup. A crash can leave files until cleanup succeeds; this is not secure erasure.

TessFlo does not automatically upload support logs or crash reports. Clipboard contents, exports, backups, and text pasted elsewhere are separate copies. Local storage does not promise app-level encryption or protection from someone who can access your Mac.

Website visits and policy copies

Website browsing is separate from speech processing in TessFlo. The website uses hosting services and Cloudflare Web Analytics as described in its Privacy Policy. Microsoft Clarity session analytics loads only if you choose Allow analytics. You can decline or withdraw through Privacy choices in the footer. Clarity is not loaded on the purchase-confirmation page. Local transcription does not make website browsing private or offline.

In TessFlo, open Settings → Legal → View legal documents to read bundled policies and model licenses. Recorded copies may show agreements you previously reviewed. Viewing them does not accept a new agreement.

Use the website’s current Terms of Use and Refund Policy for purchase terms. For requests about hosted records, follow the Privacy Policy. Deleting local History does not delete purchase or licensing records.

Report a security issue

Email support@trowins.com with the subject Security report — TessFlo. Describe the suspected weakness or incident, the affected TessFlo/macOS version or website page, its potential impact, and reproduction steps where available. Use a harmless example with your own test data.

Do not send passwords, license keys, payment details, private transcripts, recordings or another person's information. Review and redact screenshots or logs before sending them. Do not access other people's data, disrupt services or bypass licensing to demonstrate an issue; reporting does not itself authorize testing. If sensitive evidence is necessary, first ask how to provide it safely.

We assess credible reports and take appropriate steps within our control, coordinating with providers or maintainers where needed. A third-party provider controls fixes to its own systems; a workaround, update or temporary limitation may be appropriate for TessFlo. No fixed security-resolution time is promised, and ordinary support response targets do not extend legal reporting deadlines.

If personal information for which we are responsible is affected, we assess the incident and make notifications required by law. See Terms section 9.5 and Privacy section 8 for responsibilities and limitations.

Ask for help

Email support@trowins.com with:

  • Your TessFlo and macOS versions, Mac chip, and memory.
  • What you did, the exact error, and how often it happens.
  • Your microphone and model, and whether captions or cleanup were on.
  • For paste problems, the destination app and whether manual paste works.

If support asks for logs, use Settings → Diagnostics → Open support logs. Save diagnostic report creates a separate report and reveals it in Finder.

Review files before sending them. Remove private speech, addresses, keys, passwords, and unrelated details. Do not send a recording by default.

Clear support logs deletes local support logs, not History or copies already shared.

Complaints and grievances

Grievance support: support@trowins.com

Email support@trowins.com with the issue, when it occurred, what resolution you seek, and any order reference or previous email where available. You can use Grievance - TessFlo or Privacy grievance - TessFlo in the subject; a special subject is not required. Do not send passwords, keys, payment-card details or private dictation content.

We aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours, including weekends and holidays, and provide a reference or email thread for follow-up. Where applicable Indian e-commerce rules require acknowledgement within 48 hours and redress within one month, those requirements apply. Privacy, refund and other mandatory deadlines remain unaffected by ordinary support targets.

We review the concern, seek necessary clarification and communicate our decision, reasons and any action or remedy. If you disagree or have not received an adequate response, reply in the same thread or email the previous reference and request a further review. A progress update does not extend a mandatory deadline. Redress does not promise that every technical issue is fixable; statutory remedies remain available.

See Terms section 10.2, Privacy section 10 and the Refund Policy. Internal review does not waive your rights to competent authorities or courts, subject to applicable legal procedures.
